After 10 weeks of training the final routine is starting to take shape. As has been requested by some of the donors the footage of our dancing prowess will be loaded on you tube for all to see. With only two days remaining for donations to count towards the judging of our performance I look forward to your support of this great cause that has effected most Australian families.
I am the CEO of the Snowy Hydro SouthCare Rescue Helicopter which is an essential resource for the communities of ACT and Southern NSW. To be able to represent the organisation and have the ability to use my profile to raise awareness and support for this revered institution is very rewarding.
I have a wonderful and supportive family. My wife Michelle and three kids Ashley (9) Benjamin (7) and James (4) will all look forward to laughing at their dad’s dancing talents. They might even show me how to "shuffle." I love to spend as much time with my family as possible.
Sport has been a large influence on my life. In my leisure time I enjoy spending time with my family. I love watching my children play sport, grow, their zest for life and their love of simple things. I love that my kids make me laugh. I coach rugby in Canberra with the Gungahlin Eagles and my other love is the south coast – fishing and the beach.
I have always been up for a challenge and I am super competitive. Dancing in this event will definitely get me out of my comfort zone! At the same time I get to compete against the other stars and give back to the Cooma community who are very supportive of Snowy Hydro SouthCare, so it’s a double whammy. Everyone has some family member or friend who has been affected by cancer so to raise money for a great local cause and have a laugh along the way will be enjoyable.
Trying to get my two left feet to work in tandem might be a challenge. Then there’s trying to wiggle my hips...look out.
Activity
Monaro Committee for Cancer Research Incorporated
The Monaro Committee for Cancer Research was formed in 1996 by the daughter of a young Monaro mother who after a 5 year struggle lost her battle with cancer. Since its inception the mcCr has supported cancer outreach services on Snowy Monaro. In 2007 after much lobbying, a local oncology service was introduced to the Cooma Hospital. Local support raised in excess of $100,000 towards this project and today we have a successful outreach oncology service. mcCr is a local voluntary group of dedicated women working towards further cancer support and services for the Snowy Monaro Region.Your support will enable mcCr to continue this assistance for cancer sufferers.
